As you read in the introduction, the copyright date for this document is 1999. What challenges exist in your life that make it difficult to view faith formation as a priority? Are you ready and willing to sacrifice some "free time" in order to draw closer to God? As Catholics we often view faith formation as something someone else gives to our children. Does it change our view of faith formation if we seek it for ourselves?

Following your reading, please consider and comment on these questions:

Reflect on your own experiences of faith formation as an adult. What was the best experience? What did you learn? What made your experience a good one or a bad one?

How is possible for our parish adult faith formation to open the hearts and minds of others? What has to happen for this to occur?

  1. The best expierence was wen we had bible study on the Sunday scriptures a long time ago. When we had the parish retreats. Also when we had the current monthly series on the parts of the mass and when just a few monthls ago when the speaker was talking on bulling the small group discussion members connected with me in a way that has not happened before, it was more relaxed. I do like the monthly faith formations on Sunday afternoon. But I wonder if the children are getting enough from thier sessions when it comes to prayers and learning about the Cathloic faith traditions. sk
